Ireland - Day 11 - Bunratty

The last stop on our whirl-wind holiday. We left Cork City around noon for the drive North. We've driven over 1300KMs for the trip. We finished the late afternoon at Bunratty Folk Village. I've posted a few photos so far, I've got others but they are on the other camera and I'll use them in the coming DVD release. :)

Ireland is spectacular and I hope you can come visit for yourself.

Ireland - Day 10 - Cashel

I think today we over did it, we stopped in at a Swiss Cottage, climbed the spires of Cahir Castle, and finished the day touring the Rock of Cashel. Me thinks we are all wrecked from the day. Pictures below, good night:

Ireland - Day 9 - Blarney

The much famed and over toured Blarney Castle found us visiting it today. None of us decided we'd plant our lips on the lipstick smeared stone, but it is worth the winding climb to the top for the view. We went back to Cork City for the afternoon and bought dinner in the English Market, as you can see by the picture album, Morgan found some delicious carrots.

Ireland - Day 7 - Cobh

First things first, I know what the town name looks like, but its pronounced "Cove". This might be the most picturesque town we've seen. There is a massive church, St. Colemans, that dominates the other buildings in town. The Titantic left from this port on its maiden voyage. There are some quaint shops and eateries, a park, some museums, and a shipping industry.

On the way to Cobh, "Cove" remember?, we stopped in to FOTA, which is a animal park with free roaming animals. A great place for the kids to run around and scare some monkeys.

The kids finished the day by taking in some Irish dancing and feeding the ducks in Cork.

Hopefully by now, you know the routine; to see the pictures, click the image below:

Ireland - Day 6 - Kinsale

We've been looking forward to Kinsale since the trip started. This town has a natural harbor and the British built two star forts to defend it against the Irish and the Spanish. We toured Fort Charles which overlooks the town and then headed down mainstreet for lunch.

Ireland - Day 5 - Killarney National Park

Today we left Killarney, but not before we took in part of the National park. We hired a great Jaunting Car driver named Robert Cagney and his horse Susie. They took us for a ride to the water falls near the middle lake. We toured Muckross house and farms, took in the sites of a nearby castle, and enjoyed the best weather we've seen since we landed.

Of course I've added pictures for today, click the image below:
